The Spring Gala is the way we like to end the year. It is a time of celebration of the year and our graduating seniors. This year we got to celebrate the year through students getting to come up and share about how God has used the movement to impact their lives. Almost every student got up to talk about how God has used the movement by providing them a community during the time they needed it the most. It was beautiful to watch our movement share a common feeling and awesome to watch our seniors stand up and give wisdom to our students who would remain part of the movement.
We got to celebrate our five graduating seniors by having one person encourage them as they step into this next season of life. Each senior had a disciple or a close friend share and then we commissioned all our seniors by praying over all of them. After that night we as a staff team have full faith that God is going to use / is already using them for good works to further His kingdom.
With the end of the year, we stepped into a planning of the next year with our student leaders through our Leadership Launch. At this event we had our 16 leaders that God has raised up for this movement. During this time, we casted our vision for South LA and helped them understand how the leaders of the past have wanted to trust God under this vision. After casting the vision, we helped them see how they personally want to trust God this next year, to help them see that they as an individual can impact this vision. After that we dreamed with them of what we would all want to see and gave them an idea of how the structure of next year should look like. From this event we have seen our students be excited about what God can do on this campus and it has helped set us up well for our staff planning that we did for the next year.
