This semester we got host the University of Arizona Epic / Cru movement at our South LA movements during their Spring Break. During their Spring Break we got to have our students rub shoulders with them by having them share their faith on campus as they did an outreach together using a Cru evangelism tool called solarium. Also by getting to hang and play games with us at our Park Friday and Cru Dinner, and through encouragement through worship and prayer together. At the end of the week our students felt so encouraged and excited to step out in faith the rest of the semester.
U of A also had a big impact on our LBCC movement by getting to be the first ones to go do a formal evangelism time on their campus. After this week the LBCC movement had their first meeting ever and had 12 students come out. LBCC has consistently been meeting as a chartered movement on campus, interchanging weekly between a social and a Bible study time. Pray for them as this year they have seen lots of growth but will be facing hurdles in the future.
During our Spring Break we also got to see beautiful things happen. We took 6 students to Guatemala with Filter of Hope alongside movements in Orange Country and San Diego. Our students got to be trained on how to share their faith through the water filters we installed. This is our second year doing this type of Spring Break trip and our students have loved it so much. This year each of our students saw God show up in different beautiful, but hard ways. Some include having confidence in the culture God placed them into before so that they be able to empathize with the locals better, another way was through being able to have confidence in the ability to speak Spanish that God gave them to cross cultures in that cultures heart language. Overall our students took so many steps of faith and our movement alone installed 27 filters, shared the gospel to 52 people, 5 people decided to follow Jesus, and 29 people were encouraged who were already following Jesus. Praise God for all that He did and will continue to do after we left!
